Zoom has been lately used by people for all meeting and classes. The app has announced new features for teachers and students. It aims to provide a better online classroom experience. Also, the new features will be out on the free version and education plans as well.
So, now with Zoom, users can create a virtual classroom seating arrangement. Also, it also brings a spotlight feature. This enables to highlight a group of presenting students. Teachers will be able to spotlight up to nine participants at once. Also, Zoom is making possible for users to drag and drop participants in ‘Gallery View’. The gallery remains fix even when a new person speaks or enters the room. There is also planning by the company to let save the gallery layout.
The other feature is multi-pinning.
In this, users can pin up to nine other participants on-screen. As per Zoom, it will be helpful for students who are deaf or hard of hearing to pin the teacher and interpreter on the screen. Also, students can select a breakout room and move between rooms soon.
Also, teachers get the ability to selectively mute some students. For this, the host and participants need to opt in for the audio control. TYou can use the same setting for future classes once permission is granted. But, students still have the option not to grant permission to unmute and attend the meeting. Host can request to mute them.
