Get ready for the Tulip show of 2021, Srinagar, To be a grand affair!

The tulip garden in Srinagar is all set to surprise its visitors for the coming tulip show in 2021. According to the plan, there will be the planting of 1.5 million Tulip bulbs having 62 varieties during the show. The news came recently by the Floriculture department.

As per reports, 5.3 lakh Tulip bulbs will be imported out of the total number. Also, there will be a plantation of 20000 Daffodils and 60000 Hyacinths in the garden. The information is by Floriculture Director Farooq Ahmad Rather in a meeting chaired by Commissioner/Secretary Floriculture.

Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden is Asia’s largest tulip garden. It saw a full bloom with more than 1.3 million Tulip bulbs earlier this year. But because of COVID, no visitors came to visit!

Also, in a recent meeting, there is the aim of taking a view of maintenance, commercial floriculture, improving existing gardens and parks. Moreover, heritage Mughal gardens and improving theme gardens in various places of Kashmir.

According to the reports, six Mughal gardens are now in UNESCOs non confirm list of heritage sites.
