To promote regional food, Swachhta Cafe opens in Himachal

The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Jai Ram Thakur did the inauguration of the Swachhta Cafe at Nalagarh in Solan district. As per reports, the launch was online.

The Nalagarh’s State Rural Development Department and Truck Operators Union did the construction of the cafe, as per reports. Moreover, the operations of the cafe will be by the women self-help groups—Laxmi and Durga. Coming to the most amazing part, the menu. It is simple, traditional yet appealing. On the menu they have makke ki roti, sarson ka saag, makkhan, lassi and many more healthy dishes.

Also, the government has come up with an initiative to remove use of polythene and single use plastic. In exchange of single use plastic, food items will be there for people, under the Buy Back policy.

Also, a shop, Him Ira is open in the building to sell medicinal plants like giloy, peppermint, neem leaf powder, date palm brooms, wheat flour, pulses, spices, vegetables etc. This will give a way of income to the rural women.

Not only a cafe, but also a Swachhta Park will be at Kufri. Moreover, there are plans to open the swachhta cafe in many areas of state.
