Floating resorts are just amazing, with water all around and serene beauty. So, Sri Lanka is all set to get its first-ever floating resort embracing an agro-tourism theme. It will have around 50 floating cabanas. As per news, the Bolagala Floating Agro Tourism Resort in Katana, near Negombo tourism hub, will be the latest addition.
So, the 50 floating cabanas will have a floating restaurant, a floating swimming pool. Also, a pub, main restaurant, karaoke lounge, underwater gym and spa.
Tourists here will get to experience watersports, jogging and bicycle tracks, tennis court, fishing, and an electric car experience. Also, this sustainable tourism venture will introduce organic farming concept, where visitors enjoy hands-on experience of farming in Sri Lanka. As per reports, it is the first time the concept of organic farming has been put into use in the Negombo area.
Chairperson of Sri Lanka Tourism Kimarli Fernando mentions,
“Sustainable and eco-friendly products are the future for tourism particularly post COVID-19 and we look to the industry to be innovative and create unique experiences such as this project.”
According to plan, the project will complete in two stages. In the first stage, three suite rooms, 3 GPS movable rooms, 27 deluxe rooms, a restaurant, and a floating swimming pool will get complete. In second stage, there will be completion of the rest of the cabanas along with the underwater spa.
So, we are surely excited to experience this floating resort! Are you?
