Spotify has come up with an Instagram Stories-like feature. It has been seen testing stories with popular artists on its streaming service. It is visible on curated playlists by Spotify, and on the Android and iOS apps.
So, if you are the app user you can check the feature on the “Christmas Hits” playlist. On the cover art of the playlist which features Mariah Carey you will see a tiny circle with “Tap to see the story.” You will see series of stories featuring artists Ava Max, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Lopez, Meghan Trainor and more, talking about their Christmas stories. You can tap on to move to the next story. Since it’s not a social platform like Instagram, you can’t reply or react to the stories. There’s still an option to report stories.
The stories have been seen on more playlists like “Tear Drop” and “Megan Thee stallion presents Good News, the Enhanced Album.” It has made confirmation to Engadget that it is testing stories on its platform. But no additional details on the feature are there. It looks like stories are currently by Spotify in collaboration with artists. Also, there is no option for users to create Spotify stories.
Earlier reports say that Spotify would start testing stories with artists. Spotify said it will let artists share stories with content on talking more about the song. As per another report, Spotify will allow influencers to add stories to playlists.
