Snap Inc has come up with a feature, “Spotlight”. With this, users can share short-form videos publicly in its Snapchat app. This is in competition with ByteDance-owned TikTok and Instagram Reels.
Snap said in a blog post, instead of sharing snaps or stories with friends, share them directly to Spotlight. In this way, one can get more followers.
“Submit your best video Snaps to Spotlight for the opportunity to earn a share of more than $1 million that we’re distributing to creators every day!”
Check out the video.
Also, the company said it will give about $1 million every day throughout the remainder of 2020 to users. This will be to them whose snaps make it to the top of the platform. In a bid to boost engagement with the feature.
You can make money from these short video. Snap mentioned in the blog that “for the opportunity to earn money, the Snaps you submit to Spotlight must follow our content guidelines and terms”. Also, users must be older than 16 years.
Facebook Inc came up with Instagram Reels – the company’s version of TikTok. The users can record short mobile-friendly videos, add special effects and soundtracks from a music library.
