The tourism departments of many states are coming up with ideas to boost tourism. Another in line is the the tourism department of Rajasthan. They are all set to sign a deal at Jodhpur to promote wellness tourism. It is with Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurved University. Also, the department is finding the ways of tying up with institutes. This is to get their learning in a template for others to follow.
In the Budget of 2021-22, the CM proposed to set up an ‘International Centre of Excellence in Panchkkarm’.
Also, Rajasthan has a long connection with ayurvedic tradition, which can be a good tourism resource.
Prof Pawan Kumar Godatwar, dean, Research said
“National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur is a national hub for Prakriti analysis. Customized packages can be made incorporating these ‘prehabilitation’ packages along with culinary packages. NIA would be happy to partner with the department of tourism.”
On the PPP model to promote wellness tourism, a senior government official said the details will come once they start it in ayurvedic institutes. But the private sector would be the ones who will drive the segment.
So, this might be another way to boost tourism.
