The luxury train of Karnataka, the Golden Chariot, is all set to go on tracks again. The the train was temporarily shutlast year due to the absence of enough passengers.
As per reports, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) was given the task to renovate the train interiors. The luxury train is now ready to begin its operations.
According to the KSTDC, the Golden Chariot has good furniture, rooms and bathrooms, new linen and cutlery. Also, each vestibule has a smart TV with Wi-Fi for streaming facility. Moreover, the safety features such as CCTVs and fire precautions are also there.
Also, there are safety norms keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic:
- There will be disinfection of train coaches and passenger luggage at regular intervals during the trip.
- Tour managers, drivers, guides and other personnel by the IRCTC will go through regular thermal screening and medical checks. Staff members will have kits, masks, gloves and sanitisers.
- Information regarding protocols need the following when visiting heritage sites and monuments.
The Vehicles used in the tours will have limited seating capacity. This is in order to ensure social distancing.
Meal in the tours will be under check for hygiene levels by the IRCTC staff.
In addition, the KSTDC has also laid down rules for all the passengers, tour directors, guides, drivers and other members of staff, such as maintaining social distancing (6 feet), wearing face masks, and carrying sanitisers.
Luxury train packages
So, the tour begins from January 2021 and will run till March 2021. The train will be to and from Bengaluru. The booking of tickets can be through the luxury train’s official website.
6N/7D – Bandipur National Park, Chikamangalur, Aihole, Mysuru, Halebid, Pattadakal, Hampi and Goa.
6N/7D – Mysuru, Thanjavur, Chettinad, Hampi, Mahabalipuram,Kumarakom and Kochi.
3N/4D – Bandipur, Hampi and Mysuru.
So, the package cost includes onboard meals, beers and spirits, complimentary house wines, entrance fees for monuments and heritage sites, air-conditioned bus tours with tour guides and meals during tours.
