Kodaikanal is a true gem. The beauty and its greenery is worth a watch. Many hill stations and tourist places are opening with online booking. But Kodaikanal Hills is opening with a valid e-pass from the district administration to visit there.
As per Unlock 4, the Tamil Nadu state government made easy some of the lockdown rules. Also, inter-district buses and trains have started from September 7. Tourism industry people requested to open tourism activities. The Dindigul District Admin. led to opening of places such as Rose Garden, Bryant Park, and Chettiar Park.
Also, the Green Valley View, Berijam Lake, and more places will open phase wise manner. It will be done after in talks with the forest and other officials.
The government has made an e-pass important for visitors. This is to popular destinations, such as Nilgiris, Kodaikanal, Ooty, and Yercaud.
So, those from the same district will not require the e-passes. They can proceed with their address proof. Dindigul Collector M Vijayalakshmi said, those who are applying for an e-pass, need to select the ‘tourist’ category on the online application.
So, standard operating procedure are in following for opening. These include wearing face masks, are sanitising hands, and following social distancing.
