The state of Himachal is now open and does not askes for e-pass is required too. But some districts in the state are deciding not to open up. Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh is not opening tourism activities in the district till Nov 1. Earleir, Spiti also decided not to open up for tourists this year. The announcement was by Kinnaur Hotel Association.
The Chief spokesperson of Kinnaur Hotel Association Shanta Kumar Negi said,
“The decision was unanimously taken in a joint meeting with the local stakeholders to suspend tourism activities of any kind till 1 November.”
The letter by association reads “with the eye on the harvest season of the hard earned yearly cash crops like apples, dry fruits, and other farm products.”
The association also said that they cannot take risk of unforeseen circumstances of pandemic in the form of COVID-19. As per natives, it is best for the people there as most of the hotels and homestays are around the orchards.
In case of disobdience, strict actions will be there against them. With the opening of state and no e-pass, the rise in tourists is a risk point for locals.
The beautiful district Kinnaur is famous for its apple orchards and beautiful valleys. These include Kalpa and Sangla. Also, there are many adventurous activities too. A huge number of tourists visit the place each year. But the pandemic has a great impact on the tourists in the place.
