Kerala Tourism is coming up with its annual folk arts festival naming Utsavam. The festival has already began from February 20, 2021 and will go on for seven days. It is rich in tradition, folk charm, art forms and ritualistic practice. The organization of the folk fest is across several districts in Kerala.
So, the 13th edition of the festival will have various artists showing the heritage and culture of the state.
As per reports, the folk art festival will have professional artists in their original style. So, the Utsavam 2021 will help sustain, popularise and empower the art forms of Kerala. Moreover, it provides platform for the folk and cultural artists especially the deserving ones. It hopes to support artists hit by the COVID pandemic.
So, the festival will be in 30 venues across the state. The Kerala Tourism, District Tourism Promotion Councils, Bharat Bhavan and Kerala Folklore Academy are hosting the fest.
Kerala is a state known for its backwaters. It has hill stations, tea and coffee estates, ancient spiritual sites, great food, dance forms like Kathakali, Mohiniattam and Thullal as well as a rich culture. So, the fest is going to be a fun but with COVID rules.
