So, to motivate you even more, here is a success story of the person we all watch regularly or must have seen on YouTube once for sure. Yes, we are talking about Prajakta Koli, an Indian YouTuber who loves making comedy videos.
Early life & Wishes
Born and brought up in Thane, Mumbai she belongs to a Marathi family. She wanted to be a Radio Jockey and did her graduation in Mass Media. So, what she wished, she did! Prajakta became a RJ and interned with Fever 104 FM radio station in Mumbai. But life made a turn and her first show as a RJ did not work because of which she quit her job. As the saying goes, ‘Everything happens for a reason’ and this is sure in her case. So, while working as a RJ, she was introduced to Sudeep Lahiri, who later became the vice-president at One Digital Entertainment. A single supportive person makes all the difference in life. He encouraged her to start a comedy YouTube channel. And it happened! The channel came up in 2015! And since then, there is no looking back!
Slowly she grew and gave her performance at ‘YouTube FanFest’ in Delhi (2018) and Mumbai (2019). Also, she did a commercial ad in 2019. Talking about her collaborations, she has worked with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vicky Kaushal and more! Moreover, in 2019 she was part of Forbes’ list of 30 under 30 and in Outlook Business Magazine’s list of Women of Worth. Also, she won the Cosmopolitan’s YouTuber of the Year award!
In 2020 she came up with a YouTube Original show Pretty Fit. It included celebs like Kareena Kapoor, Neha Kakkar, Sanya Malhotra, RJ Malishka, Mithila Palkar and Sumukhi Suresh, who did various tasks.
Also, she did many short films too naming Khayali Pulao, about female empowerment in rural Haryana. Then, the Netflix series Mismatched, released in November 2020. Moreover, she will be acting in Dharma Productions’ film, Jug Jugg Jeeyo.
Social initiatives by Prajakta Koli
This came on World Mental Health Day in 2016.
In 2018, she did #GirlsCount campaign for One.Org which dealswith the importance of girl’s education.
The UN and Goalkeepers Initiative
In September 2019 she went to UN Headquarters in New York to participate in the International Day of Tolerance and for the Goalkeepers program. It was an initiative by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Creators for Change
In May 2018, she was one of the content creators participating in YouTube’s Creators for Change program. She made a music video named “No Offence” for her Creators For Change Project.
A normal with dreams and right guidance and support today trends on YouTube with sheer dedication and hardwork. This YouTuber surely an inspiration for many out there!
