The boredom is going to end in this lockdown as many stars are going digital. Hina Khan will be seen in a short film, Smartphone. The actress plays the role of small town girl from Kasganj. The film is directed by Ankush Bhatt. It will stream from April 24 on Ullu app.
Suman (Hina Khan) is an ordinary girl who wears saree, bindis, sindoor and bangles. On seeing the Skyscrapers of Mumbai, she talks to her mother “Aisi waisi city nahi hai yeh. Apne jaise 50 Kasganj aa jaye yahaan.” The film also stars Akshay Oberoi and Kunal Roy Kapur.
After Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Smartphone is Hina Khan’s first project. She tells her biggest challenge that she faced while doing the short film.
“Smart Phone was my first acting experience after Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, in between which I had done two reality shows – Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi. With every project, you grab a certain experience, while some might like my accent others might say I need to work on it more. However, at the time of shooting the film I had put in a lot of efforts and worked hard on my accent to get it right”, said Hina.
She believes the film shares an important message. “I think the USP of Smartphone would be the message of women empowerment and girl power that we are sending across. Apart from that, the other message that the film is trying to send out is to never underestimate anyone.”
In the film, she is in a different avatar. She has always seen as a Fashionista.
She last did Vikram Bhatt’s Haunted. Also, she will be seen in Zee5’s digital film, Unlock: The Haunted App, which also stars Kushal Tandon in the lead.
