India’s first AC railway terminal is ready and guess it’s where? Bengaluru!! The inauguration will be by the end of February 2021. The estimated cost is of INR 314 crore, and the terminal will offer an airport-like experience.
The terminal has its name after Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya. Also, it is Bengaluru’s third railway terminal in Baiyappanahalli area. This is to add more express trains connecting the city.
Features of this special terminal-
So, it is India’s first centrally air-condition railway terminal similar to the Bengaluru airport. Moreover, it has the capacity to handle operations of 50 trains at the same time every day. The station building of 4200 sq m can accommodate about 50000 passengers on a daily basis.
As per reports, the terminal has seven platforms, 8 stabling lines and 3 pit lines. The escalators and lifts will be there for seven platforms to allow passenger movement. Also, a foot over-bridge is there along with two subways will connect all platforms. There will be an upper-class waiting hall, a food court and a VIP lounge. Also, the lounge will have a digital real-time passenger information system at the station terminal.
So, now you get to have an airport feel even at the railway station!
