Facebook comes up with Messenger Rooms, may lead over Zoom

There has been a shift from face to face interactions to online interactions. Work from home has taken over from work in places. From studies to dating, everything has went online. Facebook too is in the list of coming up with a new video call feature.

Zoom, the video conferencing app has been on its peak since then. It has more than 300 million users worldwide. But due to its security issues, other new platforms are ready to come up and compete.

Facebook, the tech giant has announced a new Messenger feature. The company came up with new Messenger Rooms. It is a group video call platform wherein the host can add up to 50 people and have a meeting.

Also, it does not mandates to have a Facebook account. Those who without the account will also be able to join the Messenger Rooms.

The feature was anounced by the company’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. Users will be able to discover and join their room or allow those onl with a link. With the new feature, it will be a direct target for the Zoom.

With active conferences shown on feed and join in by a touch of button, the feature will somewhat work like Houseparty.

The Facebook with Messenger Rooms is said to raise the active users, as the Zoom has security issues. It can effect the usage and its active users.

According to Stan Chudnovsky, VP of Messenger at Facebook is said it will be integrated with Instagram Direct, Whatsapp and portal in coming future.

The company has also introduced the new AI powered effects in the Messenger.

These include the 360 degree backgrounds with luxe apartments and beaches, 14 camera filters and camping themed stickers and backdrops.
