The hotels are still not open in the Unlock 1.0. The long-awaited approval has now been given to reopen the hotels in Delhi. Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) held a discussion on the reopening of hotels and gyms in Delhi. Gymnasiums, and yoga centres will stay closed, according to reports. Also, weekly markets will re-open on a trial basis.
It has more than 5 months that hotels are shut. Businesses are in losses due to pandemic. There is less than half staff in more than 3000 budget hotel and guest houses. They removed more than 75 per cent of their staff, according to reports. Also, they have unpaid bills running into lakhs.
There has been a decrease in the COVID-19 crisis by July end in Delhi. But, the AAP government has allowed hotels in the capital to restart operations during early August. Stating that the situation is still fragile, L-G Anil Baijal disagreed with the decision.
The decision gave a huge relief to hotels and tourist accomodations. They were already in losses and this gave hope to restart everything. Also, the gymnasiums will have to wait for more time. The govenment has not allow to open them anytime soon.
