Earlier this month, Apple came up with iPhone 12 series. Also, the company did announce phones with a number of new features and better specifications.
Courtesy of an FCC filing, a discovery by VentureBeat claims the 2020 iPhones actually support a hidden feature. This is a reverse wireless charging function enabled for at least one future Apple accessory. This might be the new AirPods Pro.
In addition to charging by a desktop WPT charger, the iPhone series also support a WPT charging function at 360 kHz. This can charge accessories. Also, Apple reveals any supported accessory that can take advantage of this feature.
A tweet by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman speculates that this could indeed be indicative of Apple’s new accessory, new AirPods with MagSafe support. With this feature, AirPods case magnetically attach and charge on the back of iPhone 12 models. So, the users can charge their AirPods on the back of their iPhone. But as mentioned above, the feature would require the new AirPods case to support MagSafe in order to work with the iPhone.
There is no information available about the new AirPods. The announcement for the same might come soon. These might be quite unique from all.
